Good afternoon, I am so delighted to start up a new blog today.

My inspiration for creating this new blog is from recent news about the Westboro Baptist Church.

I, as a christian, find it disgraceful and heart breaking to hear that such people exist in our society. Now let me say up front I do not hate these people, I pity them. In the bible it talks about forgiveness and love of everyone of gods people, and I find that the representatives of the Westboro Baptist Church (ie the Phelps family) do not exhibit or show this message to public. instead they convey a message of hate and anger that god has for the world, which I personally do not agree with.

Now that I have shared how I personally feel about this topic I would like to present some bible verses that talk about forgiveness.
in acts 26:18 it says (of the King James Version) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
It says in Daniel 9:9 (of the King James Version) To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him.
Even in Colossians 1:12-17 the bible shows us that we are made by the lord and for the lord:

12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist

I would also like to share with you all Psalm 52. This psalm relates directly to what is happening to The Westboro Baptist Church. THey boast of evil and condemnation of not only the United States but the world at large. Every video and excerpt that I have seen from the followers of the Westboro Church has been more centrally focused of death and damnation than on what is the truth, and the truth is God's love for the world and the forgiveness he offers to all who repent and ask for forgiveness. For the united States and the world is not damned, people must simply make a choice to Follow the Lord God and Believe in his son Jesus and we will be Welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven. (refer to John 3:16)

Psalm 52:

Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero?
Why do you boast all day long,
you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?
2 You who practice deceit,
your tongue plots destruction;
it is like a sharpened razor.
3 You love evil rather than good,
falsehood rather than speaking the truth.c]" style="font-size: 0.75em; line-height: 0.5em; ">[c]
4 You love every harmful word,
you deceitful tongue!

5 Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin:
He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent;
he will uproot you from the land of the living.
6 The righteous will see and fear;
they will laugh at you, saying,
7 “Here now is the man
who did not make God his stronghold
but trusted in his great wealth
and grew strong by destroying others!”

8 But I am like an olive tree
flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love
for ever and ever.

9 For what you have done I will always praise you
in the presence of your faithful people.
And I will hope in your name,
for your name is good.

I pray that these people who belong to the Westboro Church will come to the realization that they are living a lie. I honestly can say that this church appears to be more a cult than anything else. It is saddening that the children in this church are brought up to not question anything, and are thrown into a world not of their choosing. I believe that God will be merciful, but they need to repent and ask for forgiveness for their sins against God's word.
